A typical PTFE chevron stack consists of a radial FlexiSeal, followed by several V-rings and an anti-extrusion ring. Parker's VX065-75 is a best in class extreme low temperature capable FKM compound. The ability to seal at temperatures down to -65°F makes VX065 a great material option for valves, switches, instrumentation equipment and many other Oil and Gas applications.
Parker's VX165-90 offers excellent performance in applications which requires maintained resilience when exposed to broad temperature and pressure cycle ranges. The VX165-90 compound formulation toughness helps to combat Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) and extrusion resistance at high pressures.
Parker's FF400-80 offers best in class low temperature performance for a FFKM , with sealing capability down to -40°F. The FF400 resolves low temperature concerns for FFKM compounds while giving excellent chemical resistance to Sour Gas and Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) resistance per ISO23936-2.
Parker's FF582-90 provides best in class hot water/steam resistance along with extrusion and Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) resistance. FF582 also has been tested via industry standards for Sour Gas and RGD per ISO23936-2.
Parker’s VG109-90 meets the high pressure/high temperature and high pressure/low temperature sealing needs of the Oil and Gas market. With a recommended operating temperature range of -50°F to 400°F, VG109-90 is the perfect solution for sealing elements requiring a cyclic temperature and pressure test for approval.
In many Oil and Gas applications, elastomeric sealing components have difficulties of passing an API PR2 test due to this cycling. After being exposed to high temperature and pressures the material can take a compression set which can cause leakage issues at lower temperatures and pressures. Alternatively, if the material isn't able to maintain resilience at low temperatures and high pressures it can also result in a failed test. The VG109-90 offers the perfect combination of high and low temperature performance which is required to pass these testing demands.
The VG109-90 also offers great resistance to Sour Service and Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) conditions that are becoming commonplace in the oilfield. The VG109-90 has been tested to and approved to many of the Oil and Gas industry standards for both Sour Service and RGD.
The ability to manufacture large diameter O-rings without the possibility of compromising integrity of the part via a splice can be critical in certain applications. Applications requiring higher pressures or rapid gas decompression cycles can benefit from using a continuous molded O-ring part. The continuous molded O-rings are available in all standard size cross sections at minimum inside diameter of 35", which can also eliminate a tool charge for low volume orders.
The ability to use materials which have been tested and approved via an industry standard test gives the end user a confidence that is unobtainable for other products. Parker offers compounds from the HNBR, FKM, AFLAS and FFKM families which have been tested for Sour Service and Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) standards such as API 6A, NORSOK M-710, ISO23936-2 and TOTAL GS EP PVV 142.
